Planning is in the final stages for St. Laurence to host homeless individuals overnight each night during the month of March, providing dinner, breakfast and a bag lunch to each. St. Andrew United Church is coordinating the delivery of the program at St. Laurence, and other churches in the community are volunteering as well.

Volunteers are still needed to cook, serve and clean during morning (5:30am to 7:30am) and evening (9pm to 11pm) shifts, and to provide sandwiches and dinner meals. Please contact Julie Chuter at 604-939-2788 ([email protected]) to sign up for shifts or meals. If you are unable to volunteer for a shift or by providing a meal, please consider a monetary donation, grocery gift card, or donation of food items, which may be dropped off at the office or given to an Issues & Action committee member.

Non-perishable food items needed to sustain the program are:

Breakfasts: Cereal, Oatmeal (quick oats – not individual), Pancake Mix, Syrup, Jam, Honey, Tinned fruit (peaches, pears), Peanut Butter

Lunches: Fruit cups, Jello cups, Granola bars (Soft), Cookies, Crackers, Snack foods
