Lauren English of BC Housing and Ed Hall chief of the Kwikwetlam First Nation (KFN) are planning to work together as equals to renew the “Place of the Blue Heron”– with the help of stakeholders and the public.

The Kwikwetlam First Nations “hope to heal from the past (when their unceded territory was colonized by the provincial government in 1904 to build Essondale/ Riverview) with a reconciliation plan to move forward that respects and protects the First Nation’s lands, culture, history and language.”

An excellent webpage letstalkhousingbc.ca/sumiqwuelu-riverview gives information about this process.
