Lighting the Way
An Advent Vigil with Rev Philip
~ Morning Prayer (December 1 –December 24, 8am weekdays)
Each weekday morning, Philip will be leading Morning Prayer on our YouTube channel. It will be gently liturgical in shape to guide our prayer together. Each session includes biblical reflection and a time for open prayer. You can join live or watch the recording whenever it fits your schedule. Submit prayer requests in the comments section.
~ The Advent Candles (Mid-week at 7:30pm)
Midweek throughout Advent, we'll gather for themed reflections on Youtube exploring each of the Advent candles (Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love) using each week's theme as the basis for Evening Prayer. We'll conclude each evening with a time of Examen, an ancient practice of prayerful reflection (don't worry, he will explain how it works!). For more infomation visit:

Supporting Our Neighbours at 3030 Gordon
With the emergency shelter at 3030 Gordon Avenue in Coquitlam at capacity, approximately 20 people are currently living in an encampment outside the facility at 3020 Gordon.
Many are local residents facing complex challenges including trauma, job loss, and family breakdown, with nowhere else to turn. Local community groups have come together to ensure they receive meals throughout December, and St Laurence has
committed to helping. Dale Lintott has signed us up for December 27th, and Deacon Pat is coordinating our parish's response to explore how we might help with other remaining dates in December as well.
HOW TO GET INVOLVED:
Cook and distribute: Prepare a meal and help distribute.
Just cook: Prepare food that others can distribute Just distribute: Deliver meals prepared by others Donate supplies: Juice boxes, chocolate milk, soft Christmas cookies and baking, containers, cutlery, or cups with lids for hot drinks What's needed: Pre-packaged, ready-to-eat meals (sandwiches, wraps, soup or chili in thermoses), along with hot drinks and snacks. Important: Foods must be soft and easy to chew due to dental concerns – think soft cookies, muffins, and similar items. Please avoid hard foods like apples, carrots, or anything very chewy. Nothing frozen or requiring on-site preparation.
This is a practical way to care for our vulnerable neighbours during the cold winter months. If you'd like to help, please contact Deacon Pat or speak with Dale Lintott after services.

Blue Christmas
Light in the Darkness | Sunday, Dec. 21 at 7:00 PM
When you can't be merry. A quiet service for those facing the season alone, sad, or struggling. You don't have to pretend here. We'll gather in candlelight to acknowledge grief, loneliness, and the weight some of us carry into Christmas. This service makes space for what is, not what we're told we should feel.
