Grounds Clean Up and Trimming

Grounds Clean Up and Trimming

Today, after the 10:30 service, EVERYONE is invited to stay and help do some clean up and trimming of the grounds around the church. We have some special events coming up and it would be great to have the grounds looking really nice.

If you are able to stay and help, please see Peter or Terry Newell to find out what projects need to be done.

Listening Forward

Listening Forward

A Variety of Ways to be Seen and Heard

At Vestry, we promised to listen well as we discern what’s next for St Laurence. With a new Rector and a renewed leadership team, Listening Forward is the next step in that journey—a way to ground our future in the lived experience, hopes, and insights of our whole community.

There will be a variety of opportunities for you to be seen and heard—small group conversations, one-on-one chats, surveys, even postcards. Whether you come every week or just now and then, whether you speak up often or tend to listen quietly, we will strive to hold space for your voice. Because at St Laurence, we believe the people are the church’s treasure.

Jan Taylor is facilitating this work through May and June. Not in a group? We still want to hear from you!

Your voice matters. Your hopes shape our future.

ignYte is raising money for youth to go the Canadian Lutheran Anglican Youth (CLAY) gathering this summer in Saskatoon, SK! Rooted in Lutheran/Anglican expressions of faith, CLAY amplifies, celebrates and commissions youth to claim their place in the church and the world by facilitating spiritually authentic, hope-filled, youth-centered experiences of God. Youth across the country gather to worship, learn,  encounter God, make new friends, and grow together, then are sent back to their home communities to live into a renewed sense of calling. We're excited to be sending a group of 10 youth and leaders from ignYte this year!

To help us get there, we're hosting a community coffeehouse fundraiser at Good Shepherd Lutheran at 1504 Sprice Ave. on Friday, June 13, from 7-10pm, complete with coffee bar, baked goods, a cozy atmosphere, and live music. With performances by The Forest Archive, Two Cents Flat, and other local musicians and youth, it's going to be a night to remember!

So join us...at the Sugar & Sprice Café!

Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School

Every morning from August 11-15, kids ages 4-11 are invited to join the communities of St. Laurence Anglican and Good Shepherd Lutheran for a thrilling road trip adventure, exploring exciting destinations with the Navigator and their pup, Scout! Through engaging Bible stories, interactive games, and fun challenges, we'll discover that God is always with us - whether we're off course, joyful, alone...or anywhere!

You can register your kids for Road Trip VBS at: https://tinyurl.com/RoadTrip25VBS

Help wanted!

Every Vacation Bible School relies on a strong team of volunteers! We're looking for people who can help in any of these areas:

- small group leaders, guiding a group of kids through the week
- station leaders, for any of our games, drama, craft, or science stations
- decorating and craft prep before the event
- snack preparation + kitchen help
- registration desk

All on-site volunteers will be required to complete a safe church training and to have a current police record check.

Whether it's one day or the whole week, you can help make this year's VBS an incredible time for our kids to experience the love of God, learn about the Bible, and grow in their faith. Contact Jason at stlyouthandfam@gmail.com if you're interested!

Summer Worship Schedule Begins June 15 (Father's Day)

Summer Worship Schedule Begins June 15 (Father's Day)

From Sunday, June 15 to Sunday, September 1, we will gather for one Sunday service at 10:00 AM.
During the summer months, there will be no organized children or youth programs, but families are always welcome. We have a dedicated space for young children and an activity table at the back of the church to help little ones stay engaged during worship.

On Sunday, September 7, we return to two services at 9:00 AM and 10:30 AM, along with the relaunch of our children’s and youth ministries. Come as you are, and join us for a season of rest, connection, and worship together.
