Please Respond: Listening Forward - Parish Consultation

Listening Forward: Your Voice Matters

At our Annual Vestry Meeting earlier this year, Philip, our Rector, promised to begin a parish-wide consultation after Easter—one that would help us discern together what’s next for St Laurence as we grow and evolve.

With Philip as our new Rector and a renewed leadership team now in place, that consultation is underway. We’re calling it Listening Forward—because we’re not just gathering opinions. We’re listening with intention, believing that the wisdom and experiences of our people will shape our shared path ahead.

We know that parishioners engage in different ways. That’s why we’re offering a variety of options for people to take part:

  • Group conversations facilitated by Jan Taylor

  • One-on-one chats by request

  • Quick-response postcards available at the church

  • And most importantly: an online questionnaire (linked below)

The Online Questionnaire

If you’re part of the St Laurence community—whether you attend regularly, occasionally, or simply consider this your spiritual home—we want to hear from you.
The online questionnaire takes just 5–7 minutes and gives you a little more space to reflect and share. The link is here

Prefer Pen and Paper?

You’ll also find Listening Forward postcards in the church. These have the same three core questions in a quick, easy format—perfect if you’re more of a pen-and-paper person. Drop your completed card in the designated box in the narthex.

Why This Matters

St Laurence is entering a new chapter—and we want to make sure it’s shaped by the real stories, hopes, and spiritual insights of the people who call this church home.
As we prepare for the future—how we worship, how we serve, how we steward our resources—we want to ground everything in community and shared purpose.

During the summer months, there will be no organized children or youth programs, but families are always welcome. We have a dedicated space for young children and an activity table at the back of the church to help little ones stay engaged during worship.
