Easter Message from Philip

Easter Message from Philip

Easter Day Reflection: Embracing the Resurrection and Living Our Baptismal Calling

Dear friends in Christ,

Happy Easter! Today, we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus, God’s powerful response to the brokenness and uncertainty in our world. We see pain and suffering around us, and we long for things to be set right. Yet, in the midst of it all, God chose to enter our world—as John 1:14 in The Message says, "The Word became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighbourhood." Through the resurrection of Jesus, God offers us the hope of new life, showing us a radically different way to live: a way of love, grace, and beauty.

Easter is about more than remembering what Jesus did long ago. It’s about living in the power of the resurrection today, inviting us to reflect God's glory in our own lives—glory that is generous inside and out. We are called to embody that love, that generosity, and that beauty in our world, bringing hope and healing wherever we go.

As we celebrate the baptisms of new members today, we are reminded that we are all invited to live fully into our baptismal identity. We are called to reflect the radical love of Christ, living lives that bring light into the darkness, beauty into the brokenness, and hope into despair. In our baptism, we are invited to live out the glory we have seen in Jesus—a love that is extravagant, a life that is beautiful, and a presence that brings transformation to those around us.

This Easter, let’s embrace the resurrection, not just as an event in the past, but as a living reality that calls us to live more beautifully, more generously, and more lovingly—just as Christ did when He moved into our neighbourhood.

Christ is risen, Alleluia!! Amen!!

May God’s love hold you,

Philip
