Blessings to Juley and Hello to Curt
We are saying "Good-bye" to Juley Biddlecomb, our Parish Administrator, and "Hello" to our new Parish Operations Manager, Curt Bruneski. At our Vestry in February, we voted to create a new staff postion - the Parish Operations Manager. This position will be responsible for all the duties carried out by the current Parish Administrator. In addition, this individual will take on coordinating and following through on the administrative needs of the church as a whole: keeping the minutes of Parish Council and Trustee Meetings, stewarding the follow-through of agenda items, coordinating the work done by volunteers, assisting in interfacing with our user groups and coordinating rentals, developing or revising policies and procedures to support the parish, and collaborating with the Rector and Wardens in all these things. As a result of creating this new position, the Parish Adminstrator position is ending. Juley has been with us for three years and has been the friendly face of St. Laurence to all who walk in the door during the week. Her care and talent for conversation have been a blessing to us all. She is looking forward to retirement and the gift of more time and space in her life. She will be missed. Juley's last day will be June 16. Curt brings an extensive experience and understanding of the administrative needs of churches. He served for 26 years as a pastor in a local church, where he sometimes did the work of the parish administrator. In addition he has insight into and a talent for the organizational demands of a parish and working with volunteers. Curt has left pastoral ministry, but he still desires to use his administrative talents in a church context. He says he actually enjoys taking notes at Parish Council meetings! We are glad to have him join us. Peace, Eric |
