Caution - Someone is impersonating me

Caution - Someone is impersonating me

Dear St. Laurence,

Once again,  someone is impersonating me and apparently asking people in the congregation to do something for them. The emails look like they come from my St. Laurence email account, but are actually from a gmail account.   Please be careful.

Please know that I will never ask you to send money or gift cards directly to me.  I will not ask you to bail me out of a tricky financial situation.  I will not ask you to be "discrete" and reply for further instructions.  If an email feels unlike those I typically send, or it feels fishy, then it probably is.   Someone maybe attempting to use your trust in me for their own gain.

It grieves me that someone is attempting to do that.  I've been told that since my account hasn't been hacked, and instead someone is using a gmail account to impersonate me, there is not much we can do.

Would you join me in praying that the light and love of God shines into this person's life and transforms them.

Peace,

Eric
