Morning Prayer continues this week
Morning Prayer continues for a second week. Our Rector, Philip, will be leading us each morning, offering a quiet, grounded space to start the day. Our focus this week is shaped by the of the Trinity. Each morning we'll take time to sit with Sunday's scripture readings through Lectio Divina - a simple, reflective way of listening to the text. Everything is exclusively online via YouTube and Facebook. You can join in live at 8:00 AM to share a greeting and pray along in the chat, but the videos stay up, so you can watch and pray whenever fits your schedule. Absolutely everyone is welcome.
When: Live at 8:00 AM (or whenever suits you) | Mon, Tues, Thurs & Fri (May 25 – June 5) Where: Livestreaming and available on demand on YouTube (link HERE) and Facebook (link HERE). Grab a warm drink, log on when you can, and join us for a quiet start to your day. |
Pathways to Peace RetreatCreating Peace within Our Hearts, Our Relationships, Our Community, Our World Saturday, June 20, 2026, 9:30 am – 3:30 pm A day retreat exploring what it means to be peacemakers: in our hearts, our relationships, our community, and our world. The day includes prayer stations, contemplative worship, and spiritual practices. Facilitator Katherine Murray is a spiritual director and peacemaking advocate. But the guest voice is not to be missed: Esther Wilson grew up in Northern Ireland during the Troubles, lost her father to the conflict at age twelve, immigrated to Canada, and then lost her husband suddenly in 2020. Out of that accumulation of grief, she has become a profound guide in trauma and spiritual growth, bringing the kind of insight that only lived experience can give. Music is led by the Rev. David Taylor. Cost: $50, including drinks, snacks, and lunch. For more infomation visit: https://www.vancouver.anglican.ca/events/pathways-to-peace-retreat/2026-06-20

The Rector's Rounds
Summer 2026 Over July and August, Philip is hitting the road. The plan is simple: parishioners host a small gathering in their home, whether that is a potluck dinner, a morning coffee, or an afternoon tea, and Philip turns up. No agenda, no presentations, no minutes. Just good company, good food, and time together. We are looking for hosts who can welcome five or more guests. If you would be willing to open your home, please contact Curt in the office and let us know:
Once we have our hosts lined up, we will open sign-ups for guests and be in touch with dates and details. Two gatherings a week, all summer long. Come and be part of it. |
Quality Fair Fundraising Project
Tony Esposito is heading up a project to raise additional funds at the Quality Fair this November, by inviting local businesses to donate gifts, services, or certificates to be sold at the fair. Do you have a good personal relationship with a local store, restaurant, or business that might be willing to help? That kind of warm connection makes all the difference. If so, please speak to Tony after church or contact the office. |
A Petition Worth Signing: Standing with Afghan Refugees
Thousands of Afghan refugees in Pakistan are waiting for Canada to decide their fate. While they wait, they face detention, loss of legal status, and the ever-present threat of forced return to a country where they may face imprisonment or worse. Members of the Diocese involved in refugee sponsorship are asking us to add our voices to a Parliamentary petition calling on the Canadian government to act: to expedite Afghan applications, protect refugees while their cases are reviewed, increase processing capacity in Pakistan, and work with international partners to keep people safe while they wait. It takes two minutes to sign. The link is below. For more infomation visit:
