Pat was ordained Deacon in 2016 after a career in Interior Design and many years of volunteering with people experiencing homelessness and poverty. What began as a passion for service grew into a vocational calling: to help others see, and to walk alongside, those in need. She later worked with MOSAIC, supporting newcomers and refugees, before joining St Laurence.
Pat offers her ministry here generously on an unpaid basis. In worship, she assists at Holy Communion, reads the gospel, and helps lead our liturgy. Her primary focus, however, is outward-facing: bringing the needs of the wider community before the church and encouraging us to respond with compassion and justice.
At St Laurence, Pat is a member of the Issues and Actions team, leads our Refugee Sponsorship ministry, and is exploring ways for us to grow in allyship with Indigenous peoples. She lives in Burnaby with her husband, and together they have one adult son.
We are deeply grateful for the way Pat embodies the diaconal call to serve where love meets need, helping us to recognise God’s presence and invitation in the world around us.
