St. Laurence is seeking a part‑time Children and Families Outreach Worker to build relationships with families in our Coquitlam neighbourhood and the wider Tri‑Cities who are not yet connected to church life. This role is for someone who cares deeply about children and those who care for them, enjoys being out in the community, and is energised by listening, learning, and piloting initiatives that respond to what they find, rather than delivering a pre‑set programme.
You will work closely with clergy, parishioners, and local partners to notice where God is already at work and to create gentle, low‑barrier points of connection between church and community. The emphasis is on starting well, building trust, and helping a shared ministry emerge over time, not on “fixing” the neighbourhood single‑handedly.
