At St. Laurence, children and families matter.  In our ministry with children and families, we seek to:

-Cultivate within our children a sense of connection and belonging to the whole parish

-Support parents and families in the faith formation of their children, their
families, and themselves as individuals

-Enable children to learn the stories of the Bible in an engaging way

-Help kids learn the Christian path, rooted in Anglican tradition

Practically, here's how we walk that out in the life of our church:

-by carving out space in our worship area dedicated to children

-by inviting kids to help lead worship throughout the year

-by creating child-centred space for kids to discover God through the stories of the Bible in our weekly Sunday kids' program

-by ensuring a staffed nursery, enabling parents with very young children to participate more fully in worship

-by gathering young parents together for fellowship and prayer

-by collaborating with our friends at Good Shepherd Lutheran to organize bi-monthly family church nights, a joint Christmas pageant, and an annual summer Vacation Bible School

-by providing seasonal materials for families to worship at home, particularly in Lent and Advent

Children and families are an essential part of the body of Christ. We hope St. Laurence can be a welcoming, supportive place for you and your family to grow in faith!
