Wondering if St. Laurence is a good fit for your family? We'd love to meet you.
At St. Laurence, children aren't just tolerated or entertained while adults do "real church" - they belong here. We see kids as full members of our community, with particular needs we work to honour and meet. Whether you're new to church or have been attending somewhere else, whether your kids are shy or boisterous, whether you're figuring out faith yourself - there's room for you here.
What that actually looks like:
- Kids Church every Sunday during the school year (Sept-June) for ages 4-12+, where children explore Bible stories through creative play, art, and wondering together. During summer months, we worship as one community at 10 AM.
- A nursery (infants to age 3/4) with a big window into the sanctuary, so parents with little ones can be part of worship without stress
- A kids' table in the sanctuary with activity sheets and supplies for children who want to stay with their families during the service
- All-ages gatherings throughout the year - Family Nights, church BBQs, our Christmas Pageant, and opportunities for children to help design and create parts of our liturgy
- Seasonal resources for Advent and Lent to help families mark these seasons at home
Right now, we're in a season of transition. Our Children and Families Ministry Coordinator left early in 2026, and we have a dedicated team of volunteers leading our programmes while we take time to discern our vision and needs. Later this year, we'll be recruiting a permanent part-time staff member. In the meantime, our volunteers are committed, experienced, and genuinely care about your family.
